*For a dairy version, see our companion post*

I created this Golden Milk recipe during a time I was off of most all dairy due to healing my body and gut. Dairy can be a food group "trigger" that can cause inflammation or sensitivities in the body.

I have since found a lot of healing, and am able to consume raw dairy products with no issues. Please use this recipe if you are dairy-free or are looking to add some healing properties to your diet while you heal.

A recipe note...since this is using non-dairy milk (almond, coconut, or others), I would strongly encourage you to use a portion of coconut cream to help create the frothiness that is so comforting! If not, I feel the drink just falls a little flat...pun intended!

R E C I P E

(Yield 2 mugs)

  • 1.5 Cups Coconut Milk
  • 1 can Full Fat Coconut Milk with the cream
  • 1tsp Ground Turmeric
  • 1/2tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 2 dashes of Vanilla
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • 1TBSP Monkfruit or low-glycemic sweetener

Slowly heat all ingredients on low heat, as you do not want to overheat the milk, and whisk all ingredients together. When all are warmed through, take off heat, and using an immersion blender or milk frother, blend together until desired frothiness has occurred; this step is important to create that serious thick cream! Pour into mugs and sprinkle with more cinnamon and/or turmeric.
